Description

Released on the nintendo 64 back in 1999, Harvest Moon 64 was the first in the series to tackle 3D and many gameplay elements that would carry on down the line.

Harvest Moon 64 took everything that it's predecessor did, Harvest Moon SNES, and improved the addicting farm style game play to new levels.

While simple, putting the game in a angled down 3D view engaged the player much more than the 2D rendering of the SNES, giving new life to your crops and farm animals.

One of the most significant, and arguably most addicting, addition to this installment was collecting photographs. By participating in events and interacting with townspeople, you would receive a photo that actually went towards your final "score" at the end of the game. Recipes also added to this final evaluation which made it more addicting to collect them.

The music however is rather lacking and repetitive and nothing to write home about, not 13 years ago and certainly not today.

Aside from the soundtrack the game doesn't look "bad" for the 64 and the addicting and engaging game play do not disappoint. If you're a fan of the series and haven't played it already, it's worth the money n time to hunt down a 64 and this game and just spend the day indoors reliving this milestone in the series.
